KVB FASTag Program:
Now, when you are driving on national highways, you don’t have to waste time at toll booths paying toll fees using cash. While driving through toll plazas, you can make instant cashless transactions on the FASTag lanes With KVB FASTag, without having to wait at any toll booth and waste your time and vehicle fuel. KVB FASTag allows for Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) at toll places around national highways, making your journey smooth.
What is FASTag:
FASTag is the brand name given to the automated “Electronic Toll Collection” program introduced by the road transport & highways ministry of India.
While these brands of highway tags are popular in developed countries under brand names such as “Eazee Pass,” “SunPass,” “e-Pass” and “Salik,” for India this is a new technology. The program consists of a simple-to-use, reloadable RFID tag that can be used without stopping at toll-plazas to pay toll charges.
The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology used in the tag allows users to drive non-stop at toll checker booths via a dedicated FASTag lane, automatic scanning of the RFID tag on the windscreen of the vehicle deducts toll charges from the connected prepaid account without stopping for the cash transaction.
The tag uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, and is added to the windscreen of the vehicle after the tag account is active.
FASTag Cashless Lane:
This system not only save users time, but it also helps save fuel as one does not have to wait for cash transaction. This reduction in fuel consumption of idle vehicles is estimated to save Rs 60,000 crore in fuel bills.
